UNI

So now I am Uni again studying Cinematography... another attempt...with the blessing and unrelenting support from my family and friends... I am incredibly lucky ...I spend days doubting myself I know I am not a natural at this there are people who pick up a camera and can frame and light instinctively I am constantly battling not sure ...I have the theory alright but the well is dry it has been dry for years... I will keep at it something may breakthrough... first exterior uni project is a commercial I am going Camera Assist on this and hope to learn I will delete everything and start from Scratch again... 2 weeks left till Shoot...

Trying a new Tact

OK its been 2 years and the last outing did not take off it ended up with an argument between the camera assistant and the director and the whole thing folded...so back to the studio to use up the film on piece written in a few days..in hindsight we should off all taken a few days off and developed something better...as the final product even though exposed and finished properly looked rubbish staged and poor and the sound was lost and everyone lost interest so it never got edited!! Basically a waste of time and money but a learning curve none the less. I have the tape I should turn it into a farce!

First Outing

Naive, new, fresh-meat I begin the process... and what I meant to say eludes me.... I wish to start with the here and now I guess... the beginning of a professional journey as Director as Photography I am about to shoot my first 35mm film and undertake the organization of a 2 unit operation of lawless students in the middle of a forest...have I forsaken all Sanity... I think not...I wish to use this blog to expound the experience....

We are to shoot on 35mm Camiflex using Kodak Vision 2 500T for interiors and 250D for exteriors.. this has been agreed on now...the test footage for the 250D is due back tomorrow which we shot on a 2 perf pull down using 16mm, 50mm and a Nikon Zoom, no filters or special instructions were sent to the lab just to telecine.... my nails are chewed off in anticipation....
